The ILFOV project contributes to strengthening the capacity of NGOs and social partners to engage in local development

Transparency International Romania supports non-governmental organizations and social partners in Ilfov to facilitate their involvement in local development.

During July 2022 – August 2023, Transparency International Romania, as the beneficiary, is implementing the project “Tools and Training for Successful Organizations_ILFOV,” under SIPOCA 963 / MySMIS2014+ 151482. The overall objective is to strengthen the capacity of non-governmental organizations and social partners to get involved in drawing and promoting development at the local level. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of mechanisms and tools for interaction with local public authorities, as well as specialized training and a local cooperation network.

With the aim of achieving this objective, Transparency International Romania plans to organize two types of training courses for representatives of NGOs and social partners in the Bucharest-Ilfov development region.

The applied course on drafting, preparation and advocacy for alternative public policies will cover topics such as: the necessary steps for developing an alternative public policy, the development of an advocacy campaign.

The course “Community projects: from identifying partnerships and funding sources to drafting grant applications” will provide participants with a set of tools and concepts to assist them in developing partnerships and ensuring sustainable development.

At the same time, Transparency International Romania will initiate the development of a local consultation mechanism called the Consultative Group for Brănești Commune Development, based on the Local Development Partnership (LDP) established with the Brănești Commune. Within the consultation mechanism, 4 public policy proposals will be developed in the fields of education, culture, social/health, and environment.

Expected outcomes of the ILFOV project include:

  • A local consultation mechanism named the Consultative Group for Brănești Commune Development, developed within the project and implemented in partnership with the Brănești Commune.
  • 4 public policy proposals discussed, validated within the Consultative Group for Brănești Commune Development, and submitted for approval to the Local Council.
  • A minimum of 90 representatives of NGOs and social partners certified at the end of training sessions.
  • A thematic network of cooperation at the local level.
  • 4 instruments for monitoring and independently evaluating applied to local public policies.
